Nepal, known officially as the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal is a landlocked country in South Asia. It is mainly situated in the Himalayas, but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain, bordering Tibet of China to the north, and India in the south, east, and west, while it is narrowly separated from Bangladesh by the Siliguri Corridor, and from Bhutan by the Indian state of Sikkim.   It currently has a poverty rate of over 25% and and is increasing.

The health system in Nepal is characterized by a wide network of health facilities and community workers and volunteers. Nepal's Interim Constitution of 2007 addresses health as a fundamental right, stating that every citizen has the right to basic health services free of cost. Unfortunately, this is a far cry from reality.  Only 61.8% of the Nepalese households have access to health facilities within 30 min, with significant urban (85.9%) and rural (59%) discrepancy.  There is always the option of private facilities.  However, minimal access to the public facilities leads to higher prices which a majority of the people cannot afford.

Due to impoverished living and lack of medical facilities life is hard and many times leads to premature fatalities.  This is why Key to Paradise was formed.  The organizations founder, Saba Siddiqui,  travelled back to her hometown in 2021 and was surprised by what she saw.  People living in homes without roofs, widowed women with children and struggling to support them, or even children who lost both of their parents at a young age.   Ms. Siddiqui from there knew her calling.  Born a Muslim she wanted to raise money to help families put roofs over their heads, make medical services attainable, and make sure families are getting enough to eat to remain healthy.  The fund will also go to building and providing services to an orphanage.

She knew she needed to do something and Key to Paradise was born.   Now we are asking you to help us reach our goal and help these people in need.

With even a pledge of just $10 a month could make a huge difference.   Can't make a monthly commitment? No problem a one time donation is also appreciated.
